This is a collection of several thousand advertising trade cards for Philadelphia area businesses from the 19th century. Cards advertise clothing and shoes, soaps, household appliances, foods and restaurants, furniture, metal smiths, stationery stores and printers, drygoods, and fancy goods. Businesses for which there are a significant number of trade cards include: Howell Evans; Fast Card Press; Singer Sewing Machines; Darlington, Runk & Co. drygoods; and Partridge's & Richardson.
